Health Costs

During your time at University, there may be occasions when you incur certain health-related costs. The following section provides some useful advice and guidance in relation to these costs.

Medical Services

It is important that you register with a Medical Practice so that you can access free NHS care. Prescriptions are currently free to all residents in Wales including students. Students registered with a GP practice in England will incur prescription charges although support may be available via the NHS Low Income Scheme.

The Carmarthen campus works closely with St Peter’s Surgery, Carmarthen in providing health care for our students. Dedicated appointments are available to students at the main surgery and appointments can be made on 01267 236241.
