This page contains a list of the University's e-resources subscriptions. A list of free resources useful for study can be found on our Web Resources page. Many of our e-resources require an Athens login. If you have difficulty using any of the resources, please email carmarthenlrc@tsd.ac.uk or lampeterlrc@tsd.ac.uk with the name of the resource and a description of the problems you are having.

ACLS Humanities E-Book
Please log in via 'Institutional login' or 'Shibboleth login'. You should then have a drop down list of different institutions, just scroll down and select 'University of Wales Trinity Saint David. You will then be prompted for your Athens username/password.
A fully searchable collection of over 2,200 high- quality books in the humanities from over 100 publishers selected by scholars for their continuing importance to the field.
American Film Institute Catalog
The premier resource for the American films produced in collaboration with the American Film Institute (AFI). The catalogue is meticulously complied and updated by film experts at the AFI.
Ancestry
Ancestry contains over 4 billion ancestry records available to search, from historical censuses and parish records, to military records and passenger lists.
L'Année philologique
L'Année philologique indexes books, journal articles and collections in all the disciplines within the study of Greek and Roman antiquity.
ATLA Religion Database / ATLA Serials
ATLA Religion Database supports religious and theological scholarship in education and research. and contains thousands of citations from international titles and multi-author works in the field of religion. ATLA includes a full range of index citations to journal articles, essays in multi-author works, and book reviews from three ATLA print indexes: Religion Index One (RIO), Religion Index Two (RIT), and Index to Book Reviews in Religion (IBRR). Sermon preparation resources are also included with illustrations.
ATLA Serials supports religious and theological scholarship and research, and contains the full text of thousands of journal articles and book reviews from international titles and multi-author works in the field of religion. Sermon preparation resources are also included.

Business Source Complete
A definitive scholarly business database, providing a leading collection of bibliographic and full text content. As part of the comprehensive coverage offered by this database, indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals back as far as 1886 are included. Film Index International
Film Index International is a major information resource for entertainment films and personalities produced in collaboration with the British Film Institute. FII provides truly international coverage, indexing films from over 170 countries.
Gale Infotrac Newspapers
InfoTrac Newsstand is an innovative full-text newspaper resource which allows users in Wales to search articles instantly by title, headline, date, author, newspaper section or other fields, eliminating random searching through newspaper archives. InfoTrac NewsStand provides access to a number of Welsh newspapers and other local UK newspapers.
GreenFILE
GreenFILE offers information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general interest titles include content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling and more. The database provides indexing and abstracting for records, as well as open access full text for more than 4,600 records.
House Of Commons Parliamentary Papers (HCPP)
HCPP delivers searchable full text for parliamentary papers, along with a detailed index.
Index to Christian Art
This is the largest database of medieval art in existence with full-text records for nearly 80,000 works of art dating from early apostolic times to A.D. 1550. Nearly 100,000 images are now available as part of the database. These come from institutions such as the Morgan Library, New York, Dumbarton Oaks, Washington D.C., the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, Princeton University, Jane Vadnal Image Collection and the James Austin Photographic Collection as well as from a number of other private and public collections

Date range is up to the last three to five years.

19th Century British Library Newspapers
This digital resource provides access to national, regional, and local 19th century British newspapers. It includes 48 titles, totalling approximately 2.2 million pages, which reflect the social and political developments of the time.
Oxford Art Online
Grove Art Online covers all aspects of the visual arts from prehistory to the present day, from art and architecture to ceramics and photography. It gives online access to the text of over 50,000 articles from the 34 volume Dictionary of Art, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, and the Oxford Companion to Western Art.
Also included are images from the most frequently studied works of art. 17th and 18th Century Burney Collection
The newspapers and news pamphlets gathered by the Reverend Charles Burney (1757-1817) represent a large collection of 17th and 18th century English news media. The 700 or so bound volumes of newspapers and news pamphlets were published mostly in London, however there are also some English provincial, Irish and Scottish papers, and a few examples from the American colonies, Europe and India.

Social Policy and Practice (including ChildData) is a major bibliographic database with abstracts covering evidence-based social policy, public health, social services, education, law, community development and mental and community health. The database is particularly strong on social care of the young and elderly.
The resource brings together data from five major organisations integrated under one search interface containing around 200,000 records. The database includes records from 1981 to date, with an average of 24,000 new records added annually.
The organisations are the Centre for Policy on Ageing, Greater London Authority, IDOX, Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and the National Children's Bureau. The majority of the material originates from the UK but there is also European and US material.
Some 50% of the references are to grey literature, including semi-published reports, working papers, local and central government reports, and material from the voluntary sector and charities.

A sport, fitness and sports medicine bibliographic database, containing more than 500,000 references, 20,000 theses and dissertations, 10,000 website addresses and links to full text articles.
State Papers Online
State Papers Online, 1509-1714 is a searchable archive of 16th- and 17th-century State Papers Domestic, Foreign, Scotland, Ireland and Registers of the Privy Council for research and teaching projects in politics, government, and social, economic, and religious history.
