PhD Student’s Book Published

03.02.2009

Creative Writing PhD student Ben Dutton has just had his first novel published.

Written whilst working on his PhD, The Inheritance of Things Past follows the life of Will Hargreaves, a successful film producer, after he learns he has cancer. Fleeing to the wilds of Scotland he remembers the moments that have led him to this: his fiery relationship with a beautiful singer and his love for a work colleague.  Facing up to his past is only the beginning of a journey that will teach Will how to live and how to love...

Dic Edwards, Welsh playwright and Ben’s PhD supervisor, describes the novel as "Very impressive: strange and original in feel."

The Inheritance of Things Past is published by YouWriteOn.com and is available from Amazon.
