Angharad Lewis is the programme co-ordinator for the BA Youth and Community Work. She says:

“Youth Work is a profession at the heart of supporting young people. It involves providing opportunities and activities to help young people build upon their talents and abilities, and to develop their personal and social skills. If you are a Youth Work practitioner, a Youth Work student, or are someone with an interest in entering the field, pop by to say hello.”

The School currently offers four distinct programmes. BA Social Inclusion is a cross discipline programme drawn from a perspective of social justice; incorporating social policy and its links to practice in a variety of contexts.  The MA Inclusive Studies would be a natural progression for BA Social Inclusion graduates, and also for those graduates with an interest in studies which affect inclusion in society in a variety of ways.

Within the Psychology discipline it offers BSc single honours. The BA Primary Education Studies programme provides a depth of knowledge and experience in the context of Primary Education in Wales and beyond.

Finally the Youth and Community programme is available at Honours and Master’s degree level. Both of these programmes are professionally endorsed, and are recognised nationally and internationally.

In addition to the breadth of disciplines identified above, the School also offers many CPD opportunities as part of its work in meeting the needs of employers in the region.

  2. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is working with Swansea Metropolitan University and the University of Wales to create a transformed university under the oldest Royal Charter of any university in Wales and England outside the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
