07.11.2011
An Alliance between the Model Church in Wales School and Trinity Saint David was launched during a special assembly at the school on November 1. Pupils of the school, staff from both institutions and guests were invited to be part of this momentous occasion.
Mr Gwilym Dyfri Jones, Provost of the Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen campus and Rev. Mary Thorley, headteacher of the Model School, outlined the historical ties between the school and the university.
Mr Jones said:
"The Alliance between the Model Church in Wales School and Trinity Saint David offers teaching and learning opportunities that benefit both institutions and builds on a partnership that has been in existence for over 160 years.
“We will strive to develop the partnership in a way that will ensure that both staff and students of both institutions have the chance to take advantage of the resources, experiences and opportunities available through the Alliance."
To mark the occasion, Mr Gwilym Dyfri Jones presented members of the school council with a commemorative certificate to display in the school.
