Learning, Teaching and Enhancement Strategy

2011/12 - 2013/14

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s mission is

Excellence in education, delivered with distinction

In September 2010, the first students were registered onto programmes at Wales’ newest University and in October 2010, the Royal Charter was granted by Her Majesty the Queen.

StudentUniversity of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is a radical response to the challenges currently facing Higher Education in Wales as the new institution seeks to establish the first dual-sector university integrating learning and teaching on campuses in Lampeter, Carmarthen and at our partner Further Education institutions in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.

At UWTSD, we are seeking to develop a University for South West Wales that offers a seamless transition for learners from Further Education to Higher Education and delivers a flexible curriculum that provides genuine widening access and support for a diverse group of students.

Within this radical initiative, the University’s creation is responding to the Welsh Government’s request for a more collaborative approach to delivery across the sector in the pursuit of economic growth based upon core values of social justice and cultural identity.
